Laurence E. Ryan, Jr., 86, of Cape Coral, Florida and also of East Providence passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at the Bethany Home. He was the husband of the late N. Laurie (Anderson) Ryan for 62 years.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Laurence E. Sr. and Dorothy (Clark) Ryan. Mr. Ryan was a Master Electrician and the owner & operator of Ryan Electric Construction. He was a member of the IBEW Local 99 for 67 years and was also on the Board of Examination and Licensing of Telecommunications System Contractors, Technicians and Installers. He was a classic car enthusiast and was the proud owner of a 1960 red Chevy Impala convertible. Mr. Ryan was also an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed traveling.
He leaves one daughter, Deborah A. Taylor, of Cape Coral, Florida and also of Riverside, two sisters, Susan McGarry and Joanne Lanning, four grandchildren, Angie Ryan, Laurence E. ” Larry” Ryan, IV, Matthew Taylor and Christopher Taylor, and four great-grandchildren, Brianna Ruffner, Brooke Taylor, Oliver Ryan Taylor and Christian Ryan. He was the father of the late Laurence E. “Larry” Ryan, III and brother of the late Patricia DeFusco, Mary Ryan, Dorothy Ryan and Thomas Ryan.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a service at 10:00 AM in Hope Congregational Church, 120 Wampanoag Trail.
